What: an inspiring session and training from one of the best:  Chanel Erasmus. Chanel is not only the head coach of the Dutch national women’s team, coach of the year, but also the coach of among others the current Dutch Champion Tessa ter Sluis, and the founder of ERA: meant to inspire, empower and connect women in squash.✨

All levels are welcome! Limited places

When🗓️: Friday 25th of April 20.00-21.30 Registration opens: 23rd of March at 13.00

Costs: €5,-

Why: There are not nearly as many women as men that play squash. Which raises questions like: how do we get more women into squash? And how do we prevent women from leaving squash?

Are there really fewer women than men that play squash? Yes, there are, here some numbers:

In the PSA world tour there are 103 men playing, versus only 77 women. The premier league in the Netherlands has 9 men’s teams, versus only 5 women’s teams. At the Dutch Nationals (open for all levels, not only the pros), 256 men participated, versus 48 women.

What about closer to home? In our association the numbers are not quite as bad, we have 52 male members versus 34 female members. However, if you look more closely the numbers do differ a bit more; women tend to leave our association more quickly, of the long-term members (5 years or more) 7 are men and 2 are women. We have never had a female head trainer, in fact this is the first year we have female trainers (2 of the 8).

Thus, let’s play together to connect, inspire and talk about how to get and keep more women in squash!
